Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has questioned President Bola Tinubu over the newly announced 30-day petrol discount at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) stations, describing the measure as a “panic-driven publicity stunt” designed to temporarily appease Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections

Atiku said the initiative was a desperate and temporary gesture that could not repair the damage caused by years of high fuel prices and the resulting cost-of-living crisis.
